Virtual PC Servers are key components of the Virtual PC Center solution. They are part of the backend of the solution. A Virtual PC Server is designed to run virtual PCs for the Windows operation system. All Virtual PC Servers are open configurations allowing customers full access to all the features of VMware VDI and SigmaSystemCenter, as well as the ability to integrate other third-party solutions.
NEC's Virtual PC Servers are configured with VMware's VDI. Also, all NEC thin clients support VDI providing the ability to connect to server-based desktop virtual PCs via RDP and ICA protocols. VDI provides the benefits of server-based computing without the limitations of shared technologies or application integration hassles. Users have access to a complete image of their virtual PC including the operating system, applications and configurations.
As shown on the table below, the complete hypervisor options for Virtual PC Center are:
- VMware ESX Starter Edition
- VMware ESX Standard Edition
- VMware ESX Enterprise Edition
- VMware VDI VI (Standard Edition) with Virtual Center and Sigma System Center
